Golf Swing Yoga
Drills

When it comes to golfing, some golfers may laugh at the
concept, but one must keep in mind that the various yoga
exercises are an execution of a pose for a specific period of
time and in such a way as to target specific portions of the
body. So when you actually think about it, golf swing yoga
drills are the same as any type of golf swing drills. The major
difference with the embodiment of yoga is that there is also a
concentration or focus that is associated with the
drill.
From the legs to the spine and to any part of the body used
during a golf swing for that matter, the yoga golf swing drills
are a means of focusing your energy to strengthen to muscles
and joints. This leads to a higher level of balance and
concentration which each and every golfer needs to have a great
round of golf.
One golf swing yoga drill that is also the most basic but has
so many advantages for the golfer is the cat pose. In this
drill, you will need to get onto all fours and inhale deeply.
During the deep inhales you will want to arch your back upwards
using your tailbone and while exhaling arch you back downward
to the ground. Breathing through your nose the entire time,
this in and out breathing and arching of the back should be
done as slowly as you can possibly breathe.
While it may seem as if this is just some type of hype on the
green, it has been proven to increase the golfers overall score
through the strengthening of the muscles as well as the
improvement of one’s mental game through the concentration and
relaxation caused in the golf swing yoga drills. You should not
dismiss the benefits of this form of exercises before you have
actually tried them because as they say, “Never judge a book by
its cover!” Furthermore, there are many other great poses which
can help to improve your overall game on both a physical as
well as a mental level. Not only can it improve your game but
also your personal health at the same time, so there are many
great overall benefits from the performance of golf swing yoga
