Golf Putting Tips

                           golf putting tips

For many people, the part of their golf game that needs the most and concise work is that of the short game and therefore golf putting tips can be so very important for any golfer. When it comes to putting, one could simply go to a local miniature golf course and practice and while this will help somewhat, putting on the artificial turf will not have as many benefits as one would think.

For starters you need to look into your stance. The putting stance should be the narrowest stance of any other shot in the game of golf because accuracy plays a more important role than the balance needed to complete a long drive. You also need to be very close to the ball so that during your backswing the face of the club goes straight back in alignment with the aim. Your weight should be fairly balanced with their back foot mostly responsible for the correct follow through of the swing.

You will also want to make sure that you are not lined up center with the but rather with it off center so as to allow the face to be at the proper approach angle at the point in which the head makes contact with the ball which is usually halfway between center and your forward facing foot.

Many people also may need to focus on their grip. This grip though seems to be a bit misleading as in fact when “gripping” the club, you are less gripping and more just holding onto the club just enough to prevent it from leaving your hands during the swing. While you may still want to interlock your fingers like when swinging a club, you should prevent yourself from doing this as it can sometimes cause your club head to sit at a lofted angle at impact which is most definitely something that you do not want.

Finally when it comes to golf putting tips one also needs to focus on the stroke itself. From the start of the back swing until the follow through, you want the club head to stay true along the line of alignment created from the target to the ball. If the club strays from this even the smallest bit during the back swing the whole stroke will be off.

Putting usually requires more concentration than any other shot even though there is a far less distance between you and the hole. The putt has the be perfect and concise because it is at this point in which most people gain the most strokes on a hole so focusing on practicing your short game can mean the difference of getting the best or worse score when playing a round of golf with other people.
